Dear E-Prime users,

I'm designing an experiment that has several slides. These slides contain several images some of which overlap. Whenever I add a new Image or Text to a slide, all other objects on that slide sporadically change their position (i.e., their X and Y coordinates change to some strange undesirable values). Why does this happen and how can I prevent this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Aleksey

I have had this problem in E-Prime 1.1. My "solution" was to specify (i.e., type in) the X and Y coordinates of every item on the slide, rather than just moving the item (i.e., by clicking and dragging it with the mouse) to my desired position. It is very time-consuming (and one of my pet peeves with E-Prime), but it seems to work.

Another "solution," specifically for overlapping images on a slide, is to have the background image on Slide1 and then the foreground image on Slide2, where Slide1 has a display duration of 0 ms and Slide2 has a transparent background. In the real world, this would be somewhat equivalent to putting one transparency on top of another on an overhead projector.

This solution worked for me when E-Prime would mysteriously shift the text in the background text box whenever I overlaid the foreground text box on the same slide.
