| Hi trying to run 30 second video clips interspersed with 18 second fixiation. My eprime runs and shows the first clip or two and then crashes. It shows this error message: Run-time Error (Line 366) 11036: Unable to update working surface in frame host manager Marker: 302 Any idea why it is doing this? My movie files are avi. | That specific error occurs after the video frame has been rendered so at this point we can probably rule out the file format. The error is result form taking the rendered video frame and putting it on screen. 1) Does this happen when the 2nd video is a different video file or specific to one?
2) Please ensure you are using the latest version of EP2 (.57)
3) What happens if you use the video files from the MovieRT sample or run the MovieRT sample? -Brandon

Hello,
I just downloaded 2.0.1.57 and tried displaying a few movie clips, with unhappy results, as follows:
1) Tried to load an MPEG-2 clip as a MovieDisplay and received message in the dialog box:
"Unable to load movie file. Select the properties button to configure."
(If there's a way to get further diagnostic info, I'd appreciate learning about it.)
(Yes, I do have an MPEG-2 codec installed.)
2) Loaded an MPEG-1 clip and attempted to run it (this worked in ver 52). I received the following "Runtime Error!" dialog box:
"Invalid Source Rectangle while attempting to render movie file.
Line: 119
Error Number:11055"
(Line 119 says MovieDisplay1.Run)
3) I tried loading and running a WMV clip (this sort of worked in ver 52). The screen went black for about 15 seconds, then I got a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" dialog box that said:
"Runtime Error!
Program:
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications's support team for more information."
(E-Studio crashes and disappears at this point)
4) Tried to load and run the MovieRT sample - results were the same as case 3 above.
My configuration is as follows:
Computer: dual 3.6 GHz Dell Precision 670
Dual Monitors (each is a Dell 2407FPW displaying at 1920x1200)
Graphics:
NVIDIA Quadro FX 3400 256 MB
DirectX 9.0c(4.09.0000.0904)
I'll try a few more movie experiments. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

| Thank you for your help. I downloaded the Beta on a different computer and I can't make it crash again. It may have something to do with the system requirments. I am not sure. To answer your questions: 1. Each video was unique. 2. I did have the latest version 3. I have not had time to try the movie clips. As soon as I have a second I will try that and get back to you.
