Can anyone tell me if sound files can be accessed and used in PEAK?
If so, any tips?

Hello,
The Sound properties of a Slide object can be accessed by:
-Selecting the desired Slide object in the PEAK display
-Right-clicking and selecting 'Properties...' from the menu
-Scrolling down and checking the Sound.Filename in the properties list
This should be all that is needed to enable sound on a Slide object.

I am the TA in a cognitive psychology lab. We cannot get sound files to play in PEAK. A number of error messages either say that the file cannot be accessed, cannot be found, there's a Running Time Null error, an error of unknown type, or PEAK simply crashes when a sound file is added as a subobject in a slide.
We know that they need to be wave files (they are), and they cannot exceed 10 seconds in length (they don't). Anything else you can tell me (stereo only? mono only? where must the file reside: Categories folder, New folder, desktop?) would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting desperate to get this working.
This users forum only told me what I already knew from the Help Guide. Can anyone offer any suggestions on what has worked for people in the past? Obviously there are more restrictions on the sound files than the Help Guide describes.

The sound file does have other audio limitations such that it needs to have the following properties:
Format == WAV
Sample Size == 16 bit
Channels == 2
Sample Rate == 22kHz
In order to run to test the Sound place the WAV file in the same directory where the Experiment (*.xpr) is stored. Then simply set the Sound.Filename property on a Slide object as (for example): Noise.wav
Try looking at the Organization in Memory as an Aid to Recall within the Templates folder to get an example of an Experiment that uses audio.
