I have an E-Run file that seems to work just fine on a PC running Windows Vista. I installed the program on a computer running XP, and it would not run. The message stated error number 10051. There seems to be an issue with recognizing/sensing the mouse device (the program is set up to measure the location of a mouseclick). I have another E-run program that involves keyboard responses, and this works just fine. This is a problem on several machines, which are roughly identical.
I am not sure where to begin addressing this problem. Any insight would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Ben

| The error number indicates an inability to open the device. Any further information it provides would be of benefit. If the error message is "unable to acquire device", then this usually indicates some other app on the system trying to take priority of the device. Consider shutting down background apps if this is the case KB2621 - INFO: How to use MSCONFIG to troubleshoot machine configuration and reduce background applications Please check the line number and where in full script the error occurs. This should indicate which device the problem occurs. For example, if the line represents Sound.Open, then it may indicate that a sound driver is not present. -Brandon
