Hello,

First of all I want to say I am very new here! So I hope that you could help me. Secondly my English is not very good. So forgive me.

I want to create one experiment that consist 5 same-different subtest. Each subtest consist of 2 example items and 15 test items. After each subtest I want a pause of 2 minutes. How can I build this kind of experiment?

So far, I have manage to create is an experiment with 5 block procedures. These blockprocedures exist of a session procedure en trial procedure. I discovered that the triallists in the trial procedure are linked to each other. So when I am filling the trial list, all triallists in the block procedures are modified. How can I separate these block procedures?

Thank you,

Anke

Hi Anke,

It is likely the case that you have several instances of the same object (i.e. TrialList) in your experiment. While the objects appear separately in the Structure view, they are actually the same objects, and any changes you make to one instance will affect all of the other instances. To prevent this, you will need to create a copy of the object. To do so, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking and dragging an object in the Structure view. When you release the left mouse button, a copy of the object will be made (and automatically renamed). The copy will retain all of the settings from the original, but you will be able to modify the copy without affecting the original. Please see section 1.2.2.5 of the E-Prime Reference Guide for more information.
