Hi,

Anyone knows how to display two objects at the same time? I have various onset asynchronies, including 0ms, and I would to know if there is a method to have all in the same procedure.

Thank you

Stefania

Hi Stefania,

I'm not sure if I am answering your question but try this. I have never tried it but I came across it in the User Guide. In the levels where you have 0ms and hence you want to display the 2 objects at once, try having under the attribute of the displayed object (let's call it Stimulus) 2 variables from the same list. So let's say you have a nested list of the stimuli called ListStim, try having under the attribute Stimulus [ListStim] [ListStim:1] both in the same level in the same cell. So instead of having 2 attributes Stimulus and Stimulus2 and under each one [ListStim] and [ListStim:1], have 2 stimuli assigned under the same variable.

I hope I was able to explain it correctly and answered your question.

If you need to have many types of stimuli display or otherwise be presented at the same time, use a Slide.  Back to back objects that have a zero duration will cause objects n+1, n+2, etc to be displayed n refreshes later.  Even if you choose to have the objects not sync to the vertical blank / refresh, you'll likely cause problems with tearing and other delays.

Hi there,

does this also work if one of the objects supposed to be in parallel is a Feedback Object and the other just a blank screen with a fixed duration?

The experiment I`m supposed to build works like this: subjects see a cue, then a target, to which they have to react the way indicated by the cue. They then get "correct" / "incorrect" feedback about their response... That is what works so far.

Now, my problem is that there is a time limit of 1250msec to the target, in which subjects are supposed to respond (or not) and be presented with the appropriate feedback. After those 1250msec have elapsed, a fixed ITI starts... So if subjects respond well within that time limit, they get their feedback while the "target time" is still running, yet if they respond near the end of the limit, feedback should continue being presented even if the ITI has already started... So in my eyes I`d either need to be able to present feedback and ITI simultaneously or give feedback & automatically calculate remaining ITI after feedback duration..? I`d be extremely grateful if someone could help me, since this is the first time I´m trying to build an experiment... (that also means: if you reply, please try to write your answer as foolproof as possible, since I`m completely new to this and might get problems with things that are natural to anyone versed in programming).

Thanks a lot, katinka.
