Hi there,

I'm trying to program an experiment where the participant must continue pressing a button on the keyboard for most of the trials (while using their other hand to respond to the stimuli), then release it on certain trials. I don't know if e-prime can record an RT for this type of response (ie when they stop pressing the button).

Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how to do it?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Natalie Marchant

Hi -
If you double click on "Experiment" at the very top of your experimental outline (structure window), you'll see a tab marked "devices."  Within that, double click to open whatever device you're using (keyboard, mouse, SRBox, etc.) and set it to collection mode of "releases only."  That should do the trick.

Good luck!

JoAnn.
