Dear forum,
in addition to the problem I just posted separately, I today completely failed with my attempts to install
Eprime2 on three other computers. (As I wrote in my other post, before that happened, I managed to
install one copy on another computer before the present problem occurred.)
These are almost brand new computers, very little software installed at all. All three boot in a mode
that has no access to the internet.
Installation seemed to work very well; however, unlike the installation I did earlier on another computer,
I was never asked to provide a serial number. (And, also, I was never asked to plug in the dongle.)
After all files were copied, the dialogue opened that announced that installation had finished; I selected
to launch Eprime2.
Then, either nothing happened at all.
Or I was asked to reboot the computer. After that, when I tried to open Eprime2 from the program
menu, I immediately received an error message, i.e., Eprime did not even open.
The error message was something like: The program could not be initialized, validated, or so.
(I am at home now and did not write down the error message; if it doesn't make sense without
further information, I will post tomorrow. However, this was definitively not one of the numbered
error messages eprime produces; more a windows error related to starting the program, I assume.)
OK, as you can see, I had a great day today ... I would very much appreciate any suggestions
concerning the origin of this problem.
Thank you very much in advance,
Christian

| I have been in contact with Christian and these problems were resolved by ensuring the latest version of the .NET 2.0 Framework are installed (the minimal install download does not include this). In addition, running the LicenseManager located in the EP2 Program Files folder area will prompt for user information. -Brandon

Hi,
I had the same 'mysterious' startup problem after installing the downloadable (minimal) setup. I'm posting this reply with the exact error message, so other users will find the solution more easily. The error message you will get is: 'The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)'
Installing .Net will indeed solve the issue.
cheers,
Paul Groot
