| Hi. We are testing the Eprime 2.0 with network license in our labs. So far, we have managed to get it working between two machines in a closed net, where there are no firewalls. We have planned to use a Windows 2003 server as a license server for Eprime, but so far we have had no luck with this.
The port 1947 have been opened on the server's firewall, and the clients are able to reach the HASP page with no problem. Eprime however, does not reconize a valid license. I have checked the HASP key on the test machines, and it looks like it communicates on a alot of random ports.. Does anyone know if we need to open more ports for this to work? Our IT-Administrator dislikes the idea of many ports open on one of his servers.

| I will have to confirm the exact port(s) that require to be open but it is of my assumption that it works similar to how passive FTP works where it is able to communicate w/o needing to open a series of port mappings. I'll try to get back to that at some point. On the machine where you want to see the network key, you can type http://localhost:1947 into your browser and configure its properties. If the network key does not show up, then I would recommend checking the aggressive option or specifically typing in the name of the machine in which the network key is attached (see screen grab). Note that you can view other machines configuration provided the "access from other clients" is checked by going to http://mymachine:1947 where mymachine is the name of the machine you wish to remotely configure. -Brandon

| If the aggressive search box and/or typing in the host name directly (ip address or dns name), then the router will need to open port 1947 for both TCP and UDP access. -Brandon

I have this problem also. I have installed the eprime on a heavily filtered segment (for hipaa reasons) I have had port 1947 (tcp and udp) opened up between the segment and the license server. I have aggressive search on and I have the IP of the server in the search parameters. I still cannot get a license. I can see the license server if I go to http://:1947 but that seems to be all.
At this point the 1947 ports are the ONLY ports open between the segment and the server, not even port 80 is open (we go through a proxy). Can anyone help? I have gone through support on the site but it has been a bit sluggish. I can only request ports to be open on Tuesdays, so if I cannot get the right ports open tomorrow, I will have to wait a week before trying again.
