| We are attempting to start the design of an experiment which uses video stimuli. The videos are in AVI format, using the DivX codec. The machines are very standard HP desktops, but on one of the two machines, the video refuses to play, and the script crashes giving the error:- Run-time Error (Line 153) 11011: Internal Error: Drawing error 0x887601c2 The machine which the video runs on uses the slightly older 5.2.1version of the codec, the machine which refuses to play it uses the 6.6.1 version. Other than that, the machines are identical (installed from a sysprepped image) Any thoughts on how to proceed? Many thanks, Eddie

| I don't have an answer but I am having the same or very similar problem. My lab recently purchased a new computer, which is a Dell intel Core 2 Duo, running XP. My experiment, which ran fine on my old Dell, would not show videos (.avi) on this new computer. I downloaded the DivX codec (6.6.1) as Windows Media Player asked me to, but the videos still will not play. Before the codec they would only play audio with a white screen. Now the experiment goes to a white screen, and then minimizes that window, and addtionally makes the mouse cursor invisible. It will become visible again after repeated movements, and the screen can be maximized again but it does not show the video. No error message is displayed. I would appreciate it if somone could help me with this problem or offer suggestions. I will try to download an older codec, but without having administrative privileges at my university it will take me a bit. Thanks.

| I reverted the DivX codec to 5.2.1, and now the videos are playing.

| I am having the same error come up (Drawing error #11011), but I have no video files in the experiment. I have searched the web for other mention of this error and have found only a similar error (#11009) that seems to be caused by pushing inappropriate keys during the task (e.g., the Windows key). However, in this task, the input is all entirely via the voice response key in the SR box, so I'm at a loss. Any help diagnosing would be appreciated! I can't find any consistency to when it happens, but I have had it happen across two very similar programs. I was running this same experiment last summer and don't recall having this error ever occur, so it's something relatively new. I am attaching the file here for anyone interested in helping out.
